Two swimming pools, a stocked fishing pond for kids, innumerable craft and game activities for kids run by the staff, a bar, snack bar, store, etc. Events were announced over the camp PA. (Monica felt she was too old to go to the fingernail painting activity, but she was tempted.)
Every weekend had a special theme. Last weekend was Christmas in August. While we were there, decorating was underway for Pirate Weekend. (Monica tried an "Aargh!" on the woman checking us in. The patient woman gave her a tolerant look. She has probably endured many, many Pirate Weekends.)
The place was huge -- over 400 sites -- and ran like clockwork.
This sort of place isn't my thing, but all the people we saw at Lone Oak were happy and having a good time.
