Our room at Casa Vista Hermosa. The room and hospitality were great, but our start here was not auspicious. Unusually, when the place offered to sort transportation from the airport, we agreed. First because the price was about the same as taxi fare. Second because google maps doesn't handle addresses the same way people in Quito do, so we weren't sure we'd be able to find the place, particularly in the dark.
Turned out to be a good idea because when we arrived, our driver had to pound on the door, ring the bell, and then explain who we were before we could get in and get our keys. Not sure what we would have done had we arrived by taxi facing a blank door on a rather dark street.
The woman who let us in was the mother of the Paulina, who runs the place. Over the next few days, they were so tremendously nice to us that we ended up feeling this was one of the best places we have ever stayed.
