A famous Istanbul food is "Fish and Bread." It seems to be universally sold for eight Turkish Lire and consists of fresh bread with a grilled fish, onions, tomatoes, and other things.
Here, near Galata Bridge, Fish on Bread is sold from shoreside stands which dispense the sandwiches made on adjoining, neon-studded boats floating on the river. In this picture, the cooks in the background are on the boat; the fellow in the foreground is on shore. The uniforms and stands are flashy.
