Our room was clean, as was the bathroom. The carpet pad was corrugated cardboard and our beds were fold out couches, but it all worked fine.
(Later, in Patara, we met a tour operator who told us he formerly arranged to have his guests stay in Bel but no longer did so. "Too many bad things. Bad places to sleep. Bad food." He said the last straw was when he had to drive up and collect his guests in the evening because they were irate and refusing to stay in Bel.)
We thought it was fine. Monica said it was pleasantly reminiscent of some of our stops in Tibet.cl
