Breakfast spot in Kas. The pension we stayed at was listed in Lonely Planet and on the Hostelling International site. Perhaps that's why it attracted more young people than most places we've stayed. They gave us a large room with a balcony for very little money. We stayed for a few days to take care of chores and relax.
The place employed a young man from Washington state. For reasons that remain unclear, he spoke a sort of pidgin English. It's possible that he thought that his pidgin easier to understand than regular English. It's also possible that he was addled or on drugs. When I asked him about it, he responded. as he did to all questions, with a stream of half gibberish/half meaningful words that I could not decipher.
After I realized that he spoke to everyone the same way and that he was genuinely trying to be helpful, I began to enjoy trying to puzzle out what the heck he was talking about.
