Tim has learned Turkish and is involved in a number of community projects. He has waymarked the next section of trail and is helping get a branch of Akut, the privately supported Turkish search and rescue/disaster relief group, started in the area.
Later on the trail a couple people asked us if we had stayed at Tim's.
