We reached the art museum by driving through The Cleveland Cultural Gardens. The Gardens consists of mini-gardens located on both sides of a winding, wooded street. Denver has a few monuments associated with ethnic groups and many scattered "sister city" parks, but they have nothing like the impacts of the Cultural Gardens which convey both the city's diverse communities and a sense of unity. Really impressive.
Unfortunately, some (many?) Cleveland residents believe that Cleveland has some bad and downright dangerous neighborhoods, and part of the Gardens runs through one of these. (One person who warned us about a "bad" neighborhood was surprised when we said that Denver didn't have any neighborhoods that we wouldn't walk through.)
