We visited the Worcester Historical Museum. It did an amazing job of making the long history of Worcester and its many personalities dull as dust. It did, however, have a Playskool-esque diner where kids could pretend to order and serve plastic food.
The most interesting exhibits were the odd things you might find in some tiny town's unculled history museum. Things like this hangman's robe and the conch shell with the Lord's Prayer engraved on it that shared this display.
