With my psyche impaired by Stafford Springs and Monica's quads impaired by many, very steep hills, we stopped at the Ashford Motel.
This is a photo from the garden in front of the hotel.
Like nearly every motel in the U.S (I don't know about India), this one is owned by an Indian family named Patel from Gujarat. The young Patel that runs the place, Chirag, (with help from the old Patel) was charming.
His wife, he told us, cooks American food -- enchiladas, hamburgers, etc. -- in addition to Indian food. She learned American cooking from youtube videos. "It's good, but it has an Indian taste. If I were to give you something, I wouldn't say 'Here, try this enchilada,' because you wouldn't know what to say when you tasted it. I would just give it to you and say 'eat this,' then you would like it."
