An amazing place -- the size of the market
and the variety of sea creatures available to eat was beyond
what I expected. So was Monica's endurance -- she
took photos for hours. I eventually retreated to a plastic
chair and "chatted" with one of the fish mongers for a couple
hours. He produced tea and grapes, though I don't believe
he ever figured out why I was sitting on his chair.
The market is fairly clean but the building and surrounding
infrastructure is old and ill-maintained. This wouldn't be
remarkable in the U.S. but in Seoul this was really the only
place we encountered that I would call rundown.
The pages that follow are captionless. I just don't have
much to say about fish.
