Two typical policemen. I couldn't figure
out why all the policemen, and they are everywhere, were so
young. Then a friend explained that all of these fellows
are doing their 21-month national service stints. Some of
them hang out in the blazing sun to guard the U.S. counsel and
wait in buses everyplace there is a demonstration -- even the
demonstrations that consist of people sitting peacefully on the
ground with signs. They also serve as park rangers.
Very nice fellows when I chatted with them. One fellow has
9 months left until he returns to his fashion design studies at
Parsons in NYC.
