This monument is supposed to be about
reunification and reconciliation with North Korea. (Note
the base on which the figures are standing.) The strapping
South Korean officer is the older brother and the exhausted
North Korean soldier looking up to him is the younger
brother.
A statue that is probably insulting to both North Koreans and
younger siblings.
