When we had coffee with Lacey in Seoul, she
asked whether we had experienced the "Seoul surliness." I
was a bit surprised because people were generally nice to
us. But coming to Busan, I can see what she is talking
about. People here are much nicer and go out of their way
to help -- one man not only showed us how to purchase a subway
card but made change for our too-large-for-the-machine bill.
They just seem happier and more relaxed.
The image is of Busan from the top of the world's largest
department store. The building with BFF (Busan Film
Festival) on it is the Busan film center. It has the
largest cantilevered roof in the world and was built in large
part just to host the film festival. Behind us is a
carousel and a little dinosaur-themed playground.
Again, if you click on the image, it will get much larger.
